The Challenge
Most of the departments at UoC relied on separate server rooms for their needs. Each server room use different technologies and required different maintenance support depending on the age of the equipment. This disparate use of various technologies makes it difficult to troubleshoot issues, causing undue burden on the IT and staff. Research and collaboration with other institutions not only increases the reputation of the university but also helps students and faculties to have access to central data for better outcomes. The university promotes distance learning and it is vital to have a centralized Data Center to enable e-learning
The Solution
Netcon gathered the entire requirement and designed a build-to-suit Data Center at the campus. The Data Center was designed and built in compliance with Tier-II level of Uptime Standards. Some of the salient features of the Data Center are :
- Total Area : 500 Sq.ft
- Total Number of Racks : Upto 6
- IT Load : 25KW
- 6 tonnage of redundant cooling with DX based bottom charge
- Power backup of 82.5KVA DG and UPS of 20KVA each in high availability
- Safety & security systems like
- Addressable Fire Alarm System
- Aspiration System
- NOVEC-based Fire Suppression System
- Access Control System with Biometric Readers
- Rodent Repellent System, and Water Leak Detection System
- Integration with Environmental Monitoring System for monitoring of its critical parameters, alarms, and physical conditions
- Physical security system with 24 x 7 operation
